LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Spoken Cinema®, the award-winning entertainment innovation, featuring renowned spoken word poet, Steve Connell, premiered it's latest multi-sensory performance piece, RISE, at the Bridgestone Arena last month for the Scott Hamilton & Friends annual fundraising gala & ice show.

Combining Olympic, World, and National Champion Figure Skaters with some of the biggest names in music and, for the first time ever, poetry, the event was a once-in-a-lifetime experience benefiting the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. All proceeds helped change the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient.

"RISE is an eight-minute, never-before-seen piece that I wrote, accompanied by an original cinematic score and an immersive digital background that was projected onto the ice, scoreboards, and every other digital surface within the arena," explains Steve Connell. "The technology literally placed my live performance inside of a movie, bringing my poem to life with breathtaking creativity."

RISE is the hallmark of the work done by Spoken Cinema®, a joint venture between Steve and  Career Creative, David Fischette.

"I don't know how Spoken Cinema did it. They somehow managed to collapse a 30-year journey into an 8-minute piece. Truly amazing!" - Scott Hamilton

Steve Connell-The Poetic Voice of the NFL Hall of Fame

Acclaimed creative artist Steve Connell will bring his one-of-a-kind style to Canton this August for a pair of live performances incorporated into events during Enshrinement Weekend.

Connell will appear at the Enshrinees’ Gold Jacket Dinner on Friday, Aug. 4, and again at the Class of 2023’s Enshrinement on Saturday, Aug. 5. At the latter ceremony, he will take the stage at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in conjunction with the enshrinement speech of each of the nine new class members, with original content he has created for each enshrinee. Audience members will see and hear the tributes exclusively; his performances will not be part of the national television broadcast.

“It has been an incredible honor to get to create work for the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” Connell said. “To know I’m going to stand on that stage to deliver tributes to these men – in one of the most significant moments of their life – is one of the most significant moments in mine.”

Defining Connell’s unique talents defies conventional labels. Spoken word artist and poet. Celebrated improv comic. Transformative entertainer and speaker. His live performances have been described as being “as dynamic as the words he delivers.”
